facebook, twitter et al....

I've had alook at facebook etc and signed up to twitter but I still don't really get these social networking sites probably because i'm socially stunted, the thought of someone from Doncaster High year of 1980 contacting me to catch up fills me with fear..having said that I can see how Facebook can be great to keep in touch with people you really do want to have contact with although twitter's allure still escapes me..I feel too much pressure to write something funny or profound so I think i'll pass.

    i think the thing with these social networking sites is you are required to put yourself out there - something that not everyone is comfortable with. One good thing I liked about Twitter is that it forces you to get to the point - to say exactly what you want to - which can be a time saver. It allows you to be in the loop with heaps more people virtually than you could ever have the time to in person.
